UPCOMING FREELANCE WRITING JOBS!
In the coming months, we'll be seeking freelance journalists to write Spotlight pieces. We'll pay $50-$200 per job, depending on the complexity of the article. We're looking for a staple of freelance writers whom we can call on to regularly assign stories. You MUST know how to report as well as write: Stories MUST be personalized through expert and real person interviews. NO first person or how-to's will be accepted.
FREELANCE WRITERS WHO WANT TO SUGGEST A STORY
Expert interviews, household finance issues of concern to dads, children’s issues from fathers’ perspective, product reviews, sports, ways to save money, celebrity dad profiles, and other subjects of interest to fathers and fathers-to-be are the types of articles we look for from freelance writers. No first-person experiences will be acceptedunless you’re an expert. Articles must be written using second or third-person pronouns.
We’re look for subject matter that appeals to dads between 24-40 years old that can’t easily be found elsewhere.
PAY: Flat $50 and brief bio for FEATURE articles. One-two month lead time. Payment after article is published. We only pay for articles that include interviews--written in a professional magazine/newspaper format. We do NOT pay for articles that have been published elsewhere. However, you may re-work or re-write previously published articles, providing you don't violate any agreement you might have with the publishing entity.
CREDIT AND LINKS: Instead of payment, some authors prefer a bio at end of article with links to your website. These articles are generally more informational in nature, but are still written using second or third person pronouns. We will accept articles that have been published elsewhere if the topic meets our needs.
**Only articles and queries that fit the criteria will be considered.
WRITING ON ASSIGNMENT
Receiving an assignment from interactive DAD and/or Selig Media, LLC does not guarantee the article will be published. We still reserve the right to reject articles.
Unsolicited submissions okay. We prefer writers submit query letters first so we may assign articles to writers/reporters.
Tip for Freelance Writers: We pay for articles that are written objectively, in third person and include interviews with fathers and experts.
CREDIT AND LINKS: Instead of payment, some authors prefer a bio at end of article with links to your website.
